Memorial Day is quickly approaching. On this special day we honor those who have given their lives for this great country. Our crackers are proudly made right here in the U.S.A., and they deserve to be dressed for the occasion.
After you’ve picked up a selection of our crackers from your local Whole Foods, Kroger, or Wegmans, prep these dips to deck them out in red, white, and blue. Patriotism never tasted so good.
1. Red Lentil and Sweet Potato Spread
For red, try this healthy veggie-filled dip from Vegan Heaven. With sweet potatoes, red lentils, and spices, you’ll feel much better about that hot dog and burger dinner combo after enjoying this spread as an app. Much like Paul Revere’s famous ride, water crackers started in Boston, a city important to the founding of our country. So we think our Mariner Olive Oil & Sea Salt crackers pair excellently with the first color of our flag. We’re sure your stomach will agree.
2. White Spinach Queso
Every good picnic includes melted cheese. It’s a fact, look it up. This mildly spicy dip uses white American cheese, so even the cheese is patriotic. It also uses pepper jack, but Jack is a pretty all-American name, so it counts toward the patriotic points as well. While you’d think corn chips could handle a dip this cheese-heavy, you don’t want to risk those brittle chips breaking before the journey to your mouth. Sturdy and rich in flavor, you’ll scoop the perfect amount of dip with our Mariner Stoned Wheat Original crackers. It’ll taste so good you’ll want to wave it over your head like the American flag. We recommend resisting the temptation.
3. Bacon Blue Cheese Dip
Technically, this dip is cream-colored, not blue. But it does incorporate blue cheese which makes this entry a pun, and therefore better. Bacon, cream cheese, and blue cheese combine beautifully to create a flavor party worthy of your celebration. Invite our Nejaime’s Lavasch Multiseed Flatbreads along for the ride straight to your taste buds. Remember, if color is so important to you there’s always food dye. Or you can lie and make your guests question if they’re colorblind or not. Your call.
